Subsequently used for other purposes (eg. Asset Management and Work Management). The consolidated lists of all assets was established by combining separate textual lists of tanks, pumping stations, etc. GIS software was used to create a single point for each 'parent asset' (eg. a parent asset may be a pumping station that may have child assets like components of that station). The point was 'in theory' placed at the centroid of the structure. If there was pipe work that came up to the asset the point was placed at the intersection of the pipe work. If a point was in the GIS (for say a pressure reducing valve) then the NPAR was placed directly over the top. The existence of the asset was verified with the assistance of local operations personel. Spatial Completeness This dataset is in a state of being reconciled with another structure layer. During this period there will exist gaps in the data. The dataset will be maintained from as-constructed plans. The majority of all rateable assets are captured. Projects are in place to capture non-rateable assets. 1 Logical Consistency The majority of the data is topologically correct although some overlaps and gaps are present which preclude state wide network tracing. The dataset is being continually improved to remove inconsistencies. 1 Positional Accuracy Some wastewater structures in the urban areas have a positional accuracy of within 4m. The remainder of the structures have a positional accuracy that ranges from 5 m to 25m. The data has been used within the Corporation since 1992 and is of adequate accuracy for most business operations. 1 Attribute Accuracy Initially captured from hard copy plans and is now maintained from as-constructed plans. Attribute accuracy is maintained by use of pre-defined lists of valid values.
